Hi I'm Jason

I am a Husband, Father, ER Physician and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Emergency Medicine Physician in Boulder Colorado. My work is always exciting and challenging but, it pales in comparison to my home life. My wonderful wife and I are constantly trying to corral our 4 children ages 2 to 11. Our life is full of swim meets, basketball games, camp-outs and happiness. When I have a spare second I enjoy skiing in the winter and cycling road and mountain in the summer. I also served a mission in Riga, Latvia where I learned Russian.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe it is Christ's Church. The very same church that he has organized and re-organized throughout world history. This church and it's teachings have been an integral part of my development as a human being. It's doctrine teaches so many practical and valuable life lessons and it keeps me from vice. A living prophet helps to inspire and advise me on the priorities of life and the Book of Mormon stands as an undeniable witness of Christ's role as our savior. I spent two years on a mission, declaring that the book of mormon is true. I have since spent countless more hours learning and teaching from it’s pages. Every day my wife and I read it with our children. The lessons that it teaches and the church that it espouses shape who I am and who I want to be. I believe I will be held accountable for the contents of the Book of Mormon. I have based my life on it.

How I live my faith

I supervise the Youth program in our Stake. It's hard to find a more rewarding responsibility anywhere. I don't feel very far removed from being a "Youth" myself, although to them, at 35, I'm sure I seem ancient. I love to see there enthusiasm for life, for friends, and for the gospel. I also try my best to support my wife in her responsibilities. She is the President of the Women's organization in our ward and spends a significant amount if time trying to advise and care for those she serves. Some times we feel overwhelmed with the amount of time we spend serving the church, but then we remember our covenant to dedicate our lives to Christ. What we've found is that as we give of our time and talents, they are multiplied in return.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Our Father in Heaven has commanded that sexual relations are to be exercised only between a man and a woman who are legally married. This can be a very difficult principle to observe, especially before marriage, Many people joke that this is why mormons often get married so young. But it has been a great blessing in my life. It has brought great strength and confidence to my marriage and family. And our modern prophets have counciled that this commandment includes the avoidance of pornography. Pornography is responsible for the destruction of many lives and families and the council to avoid it illustrates the value of having a living prophet. Show more Show less
