Hi I'm John

I'm Australian, a father of six and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married the most amazing woman 12 years ago, and now I am a father of six children, four boys and two girls. My wife and I purchased a small farm where we are raising our family. I have a business that provides consulting services to financial advisers for which I design and build software. In my spare time I enjoy working on the farm, hiking, climbing, wrestling the children in the front yard or just enjoying the view from our front veranda with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a third generation Mormon, my parents raised eleven children, our home was filled with prayer, scriptures, fun and faith. I saw the teachings of Jesus in action in the lives of my parents and how those principles not only blessed them but our whole family. Not that we didn't have problems, we had plenty. But the teachings of the Saviour have been like an unbreakable thread binding us together. It was a wonderful foundation on which my wife and I could start building our own family. Now our children and my brothers & sisters children are growing up together, my kids have 75 cousins and counting with whom they work, play, fight and friendship. It is a great support and strength to know our children have friends and family who have the same values and faith that they do. I love to attend church each Sunday, it gives me such a spiritual renewal for the coming week. I also love to study the scriptures, through reading & pondering the words of the Bible & especially the book of Mormon I have found real and practical answers to the challenges in my life. Why am I a Mormon? Because it works! For all of the reasons I have stated above, but most especially because I know it's true. Through a thousand little things each day that confirm my faith and through the powerful spiritual confirmations that attend the living of Christs teachings.

How I live my faith

One of the great things about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints is that everyone gets to participate. I think some of the greatests lessons in my life have come as I have tried to serve others. This has also been when God has magnified my efforts beyond what I could do on my own. It is an amazing experience to feel and see God bless someone else's life through your humble efforts.
