Hi I'm Kirk

I have a happy family and I love my wife and kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have been married for 17 years and we're blessed with 6 beautiful children. We stay very busy with soccer, piano, and dance! I work for a cloud computing company and love learning about new technology. I enjoy reading, watching soccer, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because I love the Savior, Jesus Christ, and I feel this is His church. Jesus said in the New Testament that after He left He would send the Spirit to bear witness of the truth and to point us to Him again. The Spirit, He said, would teach us all things. The Apostle Paul in his letter to the Galations described the feelings and thoughts from the Spirit as bringing love, peace, and joy into our hearts. As a young man I had the opportunity to feel the Spirit powerfully as I listened to a Mormon leader speak about modern problems and our relationship with God. Through this same method I have come to know that the Book of Mormon was written by prophets of God, that God loves us as His children, that God has a plan for us, that the priesthood power to act in God's name is important and it is found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and that God will help our family to find happiness now and forever. Life is not always easy. Our 2nd son has hydrocephalus and required surgeries shortly after his birth, among other things. But we have learned to trust God. To seek after Him through faith and prayer and careful obedience to His teachings. And God has blessed us with peace, and joy, and love. May you find the happiness we have found despite the trials you face.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher and a leader at our local church. Jesus said that we should share His gospel with others and that we should strengthen and love one another as His followers. So I do what I can to help others feel included, to strengthen them individually and as families, and to help them feel God's love. I believe God wants us to be happy. Not only "eventually", but frequently and often. I have a ton of fun at home and at work! The principles that Christ taught allow me to get along well with others and to have peace with myself. Especially at home I notice the benefits of the principles that Jesus taught-- service and selflessness, kindness and forgiveness.
