Hi I'm Kelly

Retired Professional Computer Gamer/Geek, Father and Friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I'm Kelly and I'm 27 years old. Some history about me... I retired at the age of 19 from playing computer games professionally. That didn't mean I stopped working, just ended one part of my adolescent life to start a new one. I served a mission in Concepcion, Chile for 2 years, came home and a year later married my awesome wife! We have 2 boys who love life and a 3rd on the way. I love face to face interaction and love being in front of large groups of people presenting or giving talks etc. My career has allowed me to grow in this aspect and train large companies on customer service and how to sell with power. I now work in the political realm as well as non-profits and have the opportunity to stay home with my family and enjoy every day to the max. I am in school, love sports and anxiously await snowboard season every year. Anything that has to do with thrill or excitement... count me in. I still enjoy "gaming" it up with my buddies from high school at times and bringing back good memories of most of my middle to high school life. My favorite games right now: World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress 2, Battlefield 3, Starcraft 2.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, like most, I have had the opportunity to learn, live and pray to know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. Some say I haven't lived because I grew up in the church, but that is not true. I questioned this faith from a very young age and it wasn't until I was older that I had an opportunity to read the promise in the Book of Mormon, pray and find out for myself that this was the true church on the face of the Earth today. I am a Mormon because every where you look, people are getting divorced, children don't understand what morals are or even understand what that word means. People are falling further away from belief in a Supreme Being and are lost. Questions are always asked "why am I here and what is my purpose?" Because of living prophets today I know why I am here and what my purpose is and I am thankful to my Heavenly Father that he loves me enough that he wants me to know and return back to His presence some day. Being a member of the church has given me guidance, morals, strength to stand up for what I believe in and the ability to understand what my purpose is here on Earth and how I can better myself each and every day.

How I live my faith

I have the greatest opportunity to teach children from the ages of 9 - 12 the principles that Christ taught while he was here on Earth. It is a great opportunity to help prepare them for young adulthood by sharing what He taught us i.e. the commandments, chastity, honesty and so on. I also have the great pleasure of vising those that are in need of help most by offering my services to them, whether it be cleaning, preparing meals etc. Some of the greatest joy comes out of service. On many occasions I have received a phone call that a family is moving and within minutes we have about 10 people that are willing to stop what they are doing whether it be work, school or family, and come help that person move. "When we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are only in the service of our God."
