Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Sarah; connoseuir of muffins, a little obsessed with fire hydrants, consumer of frozen blueberries, daughter, sister, favorite aunt, holiday lover, amateur tap-dancer, bargain shopper, poet of haikus, missionary in Arizona; I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Here's why. I am Mormon becuase I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that His church was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith, and that He still speaks today through living prophets. I am Mormon because I have found out through study and prayer that God does exist, that I am his daughter, and that he wants me to have JOY. Life is hard, but even the most difficult days are illuminated with light, peace and hope that comes through Jesus Christ and living His gospel.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite mottos is this: LIVE WHAT YOU KNOW; and it is what I strive to live by. My knowledge of Jesus Christ, His teachings, and most importantly His love, inspire me live what I know. I love sharing my faith with others!

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is not another Bible, but another holy book of scripture that was written by ancient prophets who lived on the American continent. Each prophet testified, like all prophets throughout time have testified, that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that through following His example and living His teachings, all can recieve salvation and receive all the blesssings of God. Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

The priesthood is the power of God given to man to act in His name. In order for a man to have that authority, he must be called of God and given the power by someone who has the authority (see Hebrews 5:4). During His life, Christ gave the priesthood to his Apostles so that they could continue his church and perform ordinances in His name. However, following the death Christ, his Apostles were rejected and killed. Man made changes to Christ's church and over time the priesthood power was no longer on the earth. We learn the importance of proper authority to baptize through the baptism of Jesus Christ. When it was time for him to show us the manner of baptism, he went to John the Baptist, who held the authority of God. In 1829, that same power of God was restored to the earth through the Prophet, Joseph Smith. It is through that power that we must be baptized in order to receive salvation. Show more Show less
