Hi I'm Doran

I'm a proud Canadian and a die-hard Edmonton Oilers fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm father of 4 beautiful, smart, and kind daughters and love that my wife is my best friend. I love all sports and referee high school/college basketball. I teach high school mathematics and Halloween is my favourite time of year. I've skydived, bungee jumped, and love a good roller-coaster ride. Skiing on a sunny day with fresh powder is as close to heaven as anyone can expect to get while still on earth!

Why I am a Mormon

There is peace in understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ and living it. I know that God lives and that this life is only a small part of eternity. I know that marriage by proper Priesthood authority will give my family the opportunity to be together forever as we follow the teachings of our Savior. I love the Book of Mormon and the Bible and I'm so grateful that there are living Prophets on the earth today still receiving revelation for all of God's children. I've had very personal spiritual experiences through prayer and study that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contain the full understanding of Christ's doctrine for the salvation of all mankind. I'm a Mormon because living my faith is where I find true joy and happiness in this life.

How I live my faith

I served as a missionary in NYC for two years and enjoy the opportunities I have to teach/work/play with the youth in our local congregations. I enjoy going to the temple to learn more of my Heavenly Father's plan for all of us and feel of His love for me. I try my best live the teachings of Jesus Christ each day, to love my neighbour, assist those around me that need a helping hand, and to raise my family with a love for our Savior and a desire to enjoy life, always remembering that true happiness comes from following the will of God.
