Hi I'm Nate

I grew up in a small town in northern Arizona in the United States. I am a mormon. I love to play golf.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in northeast Arizona, called Snowflake. It was founded by mormon settlers by the last names of Flake and Snow. I grew up on a pig farm and feedmill. We always had plenty of work to do and I was blessed to learn how to enjoy work from my parents. My parents joined the church in their early 20's. It has been the greatest blessing for them and for us being raised in the church. I served a mission in Auckland New Zealand and the Cook Islands. I learned the culture of the polynesian people and came to love them so much. I was married to my sweetheart in May of 1999. We now have 3 beatuiful boys and I am so blessed. I have worked mostly in the Construction Industry for others and my own building business. I now work in the Construction division of the US Army Corps of Engineers and enjoy what I do so much. I love the outdoors, hiking, hunting, and fishing. I have played golf since I was five years old and I love to play golf and be with my family when I am not working.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon church. Ever since I was a small boy I could feel the influence of the holy spirit telling my heart and mind that what I was being taught was true. I have always had this testimony burn in my heart and it has grown stronger and stronger through the years. Near the conclusion of the sermon on the mount in the new testament of the Holy Bilbe, Christ told his disciples that in the last days "ye shall know them by their fruits", speaking of prophets. The book of mormon was translated by Joseph Smith by the gift and power of god. It is the main fruit of the prophetic evidence of the Prophet Joseph Smith. It was published in 1830 and has blessed the lives on millions of people on earch by them learning of the teachings of Christ the same as the bible. It is another witness, along with the bible, that Jesus Christ is a real person and walked the earth and established his church. I know that it is true and that the Lord has again restored his church again on earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith as spoken of in the book of Acts, "a restitution of all things". The Holy bible speaks of this church and the book of mormon in many places. I will expond on one such example. The prophet Eziekiel spoke of two sticks, the stick of Joseph and the stick of Judah. The stick of Judah is the bible and the stick of Joseph is the book of mormon. Jacob or Isreal blessed his twelve sons before his death and told Joseph that he and his decendants would be a fruitful bow seperate from his brothers and decentants as a "branch over the wall". This can be read in the last of the book of Genesis. The wall represents the sea and some of his decendants, or branch, left Jeruselam about 600 B.C and traveled to the Americas. The book of mormon is a history of these people written by prophets in olden times the same as the bible and spoken of by Christ himself "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold" speaking to the people in Jeruselam after his ressurection.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day by trying to be like Jesus to all those around me. In our church we all have callings to help in blessing the lives of others. Some work with the youth, others with primary children. I work with our full-time missionaries to find others to teach about the good news of the gospel. Our missionaries are throughout the earth, some fifty thousand strong working to fulfill the saviours charge to "feed his sheep". We do our best to follow this council by the saviour. I attend church each week on Sunday to partake of the sacrament and renew my baptisimal covenants. They include to take upon myself the name of Christ, to always remember him, and to keep his commandments. I am grateful for the sacrament each week as I fall short in my thoughts, deeds, and actions each week. I am always striving to be better and more like the saviour. I attend my Priesthtood meeting each week on Sunday which helps me to be a better husband and father. It also helps me become more like my saviour in serving others and providing ways to help in my community. I attend a sunday school class as well each Sunday to learn more of his teachings through the words of his prophets and through studying the scriptures. Each day I am trying to become more like the saviour.
