Hi I'm Beverley

I'm an avid quilter, genealogist, love to play the piano and organ and mountain hiking and I enjoy my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 7 (4 daughters and 3 sons), 26 grandchildren and many great grandchildren that call me GG. I love classical music and playing the piano and organ, love cooking, sewing, teaching piano. I have always loved the outdoors. I grew up at the foot of a mountain and enjoyed hiking, horseback riding, biking and playing golf. My favorite hobbies are genealogy and quilting. I love piecing and watching the puzzle of fabric go together and have committed to making a quilt for each married grandchild.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family and attended church and participated in the many children and youth programs available to us through our church. As a youth I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God. The Holy Spirit has testified to me of this truthfulness and I know we have a Prophet at the head of your church today that communicates with the Savior and teaches us the things the Savior wants us to know. I am very grateful for the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ and it has been a guide throughout my life. I was married to my first husband 30 years and then a widowed single mother with 7 children. I relied daily in prayer for inspiration and guidance for my many challenges and HE would answer my prayers or guide me to new answers to my problems. We were married in the temple for time and all eternity. The knowledge that our family had been sealed forever gives me motivation to keep the commandments. I know that God lives and He is our Father in Heaven. I know that families can be together forever by obeying God's laws and ordinances. I overcame the sorrow of death through the Plan of Happiness. I am grateful for the organization of this church because it has helped me to teach my children and grandchildren the Lord's Plan for Happiness and how to live so we can return to live with Him. Because of my faith in Jesus Christ, I feel more confident in my daily life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday, reading the scriptures daily, communicating with my Heavenly Father regularly, I need His input in my daily life and decisions. I am very grateful for the blessings that have been showered on me and my loved ones and the lessons the scriptures have taught me. I have enjoyed serving as a teacher for our early morning scripture study with our young people, have taught in our women's classes, had many musical opportunities accompanying choirs, playing organ for Sunday worship and now serving in our family history library teaching and helping others to research their genealogy. I recently participated with my church in organizing a drive for our men and women in the military and we sent about 300 care packages overseas. We as members of this church participate in visiting and caring for one another and nurture those members we have stewardship over. I personally have been the recipient of much nurturing when my husband died and have received much grateful service for my children from our compassionate members. I've enjoyed participating in our humanitarian projects, making quilts, hygiene kits, school kits, newborn package. I've served as a missionary for our Employment Resource Center helping people learn how to prepare themselves to hunt for jobs, create resumes, dress for success, interviewing, and increasing self confidence. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and I love him. I love His teaching and the scriptures.
