Hi I'm Janice Freij

I'm a goofball. I'm an Arab-American. I love doing temple work for my ancestors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the Church. I love traveling to discover how beautiful and unique all of Heavenly Father's children are. I am the daughter of Palestinian immigrants, and I work at a museum dedicated to help people understand more about Arab culture and Islam. I love to cook, eat, do extreme workouts (when I'm not being lazy), and hang out with my hilarious mom. I am very silly, but know when to turn on the serious switch. I served a mission in New Zealand. I love being LDS.

Why I am a Mormon

Before joining the church 16 years ago, I felt empty and had a hard time loving myself and others. After learning about the gospel and being baptized, I felt "full". Full of knowledge that has helped shape the new me, full of love for my Maker and all of His children, and full of happiness. Being Mormon has helped me deal with difficult situations, and has taught me to be grateful for them. I love being a member of the LDS church, and wouldn't trade it for anything. To find out more about why I believe, you can listen to my interview with the host of the "Why I Believe" Program on the Mormon Channel. http://mormonchannel.org/programs/why-i-believe-episode-36?lang=eng

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to do what's right, and repenting when I fall short. I also make an effort to not just go with the "Mormon flow" but to go above and beyond to show Heavenly Father that I am working diligently on His team. One thing I've learned over the years that has helped to stay strong and faithful is this: We are all imperfect. Instead of getting discouraged when we mess up, we must have the Godly sorrow Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians 7:9-11 and draw closer to the Lord by utilizing the power of His atonement.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Janice Freij
Reading the scriptures helps us to fully understand the Lord's will for us and for all of His children. Not only do we learn general principles, doctrine, and commandments we need to follow, but we also are capable of receiving personal revelation regarding our individual circumstances. This can only happen when when pray, read, and ponder the things we've learned. I know that when seeking solutions to any and all problems or issues we are facing in our lives, we will find answers in the scriptures. The Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures all work together to help solve the mysteries of the universe, and to answer questions that have stumped humanity for centuries. What a blessing it is to have these teachings at our fingertips. Show more Show less
