Hi I'm Jerry

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi. I'm a father of 4 children and have been married for 27 years. I graduated from college with a bachelors degree in business. I'm in the real estate development business and have been for almost 25 years. I love to golf, go to the beach and take trips with my wife and my family. I was raised in the Buddhist church as a child. When I was about 8 years old my parents stopped taking our family to the Buddhist church, so I spent most of the rest of my growing up years not attending an organized church. I was introduced to the Mormon church about the time I graduated from college. I had several friends in grade school and high school that were Mormon, but had no interest to hear about their faith. But a couple of years after college, I was ready to think about things of deeper meaning. I was contemplating my future family and searching for reasons for why I felt so blessed for so many positive things around me.

Why I am a Mormon

About the time I was introduced to the Mormon church, there were 3 questions that were burning in me to know an answer: where did I come from, why am I here and where do I go when I die. Now I know the answers to these questions and it gives me a profound perspective to apply those answers to my day to day challenges and decisions. I existed as a spirit child of a loving Father in Heaven. I chose to accept a physical body and come to earth, to be tried and tested and to demonstrate faith in Jesus Christ. And through the sacred Atonement that the savior of the world Jesus Christ performed for me, I can someday return to His presence in heaven. And through the authority that has been restored to the earth, there are sacred ordinances that I can participate in that will allow me to be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I have held many different assignments or callings since I was baptized almost 30 years ago. All of my time serving others in my assignment has been joyful and rewarding. I truly have felt that "when you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God" My current calling is to help organize wholesome, safe and fun activities for young men and young women ages 12 to 18. They may be activities with just a few youth or up to 400. It may be an activity that last a couple hours or for 4 days. I love serving with the youth. I also have the opportunity to have 3 families assigned to me to watch over and help. I was able to provide sacred prayers when they have been sick or in distress.
