Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a student, a climber, an innovator and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very active person, I love mountain biking, rock climbing, and backpacking. I have even tried my hand at a few triathlons, though my finishing times leave a lot to be desired. Needless to say, I really like being outdoors. As a student, I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University in Provo. I'm actively involved in building new and innovative products. I like designing and creating things that help make life easier for people. I enjoy the entrepreneurship and start-up scene and I'm fascinated daily by the new ideas that people are coming up with to solve life's problems. My faith is an integral part of my life, and I know that God wants me to pursue the things that bring joy in this life for me, for my family and for every one of God's children.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up knowing right from wrong and reading from the Book of Mormon with my family, but it wasn't until I sincerely read it for myself that I realized I really did believe it was true. That coupled with the witness of the Holy Ghost, as I prayed each night to know if it was true, has dramatically increased my conviction that I know that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of the world. Not only that, but from reading the Book of Mormon I also know that God has always worked through prophets and that he always will as long as there are people who are willing to follow them. I know that Jesus Christ did call Joseph Smith to be that prophet in these last days before the second coming of Jesus Christ. But its not only being able to say I know those things that makes me want to be a Mormon. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as it is taught by Jesus Christ and through His chosen servants, is the only way to achieve a fullness of joy for me and my family. It brings a remission of sins and teaches me how to treat others and help them through their daily challenges as well as mine.

How I live my faith

Keep the commandments and be happy. Disobey and be sad. When I mess up I try to fix it and do better next time. That cycle happens a lot for me through the course of a week or even a day.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

It takes constant effort to learn about and live according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Read the scriptures daily, pray daily, keep the commandments and repent when you mess up. Don't let others bring you down, follow the Spirit of God which always urges us to follow Christ and His gospel. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Nephi, Lehi, Jacob, Mormon, Moroni, Alma and other prophets of God. If these names are unfamiliar to you then I suggest picking up the Book of Mormon and reading it to find out if what they wrote about Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is true. You may not recognize these names because they are not prophets that lived and wrote in Jerusalem, but they lived in the ancient America's. It starts around 600 B.C. and goes through 421 A.D. It most certainly contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and testifies that "there shall be no other name given nor any other means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent."
