Hi I'm Ellen

I'm an an economist, a theater and film buff, and a wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm your normal, run-of-the-mill girl who loves to enjoy life. When I get home from work, I can't wait to dive into a good book and am always on the prowl for more. I find that I can also unwind by watching films or TV shows that range from nearly everything except scary movies-I'm a jumper during those kinds of movies, which my husband finds hilarious. I have always wanted to travel and have gotten started on my bucket list of places to go, from Germany to Seattle (by the way, I loved and highly recommend both!). I love learning the history and culture of places around the world and already have a few more exotic spots in mind! I'd really like to visit our ancestor's homelands, which takes us all over the world. I am huge OSU Buckeyes football fan and have been to a game at the famous "Shoe." I would play tennis or volleyball all day long if I could. On my list of things to try is bungee jumping, sky diving, and getting a motorcycle license.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my faith in Jesus Christ brings me peace and stability in a world that seems to be constantly shifting. In my experience, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has the most complete gospel on Christ on the Earth today and that gospel has the power to bring immense blessings into my life. In particular, the doctrine of eternal families (that families can be united after this life) has strengthened my desire to be a better sister, wife, and someday, mother.

How I live my faith

As I live my faith, I try to follow Jesus Christ's example. Since I'm not perfect, I'm working on being kinder to others and more patient with myself as I make mistakes. Christ's teachings can mold us into something more than we are now and will bring blessings in this life and in the life to come.
