Hi I'm Wetzel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three living and working in the National Capitol Region. I am a photojournalist for the Marine Corps as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because my daddy was a Mormon. When he was six years old, his parents converted to the church. I have always been blessed because of my faith and my upbringing. When I was a young whippersnapper of about 19 years of age, I was struggling with the why - why should I work for the Lord, why should I continue to obey the commandments. I had just undertaken a very difficult assignment and I really needed to know. Sometimes people say that the Holy Ghost feels like a burning in the bossom, it's much more than that. It was a lifting sensation, the feeling that I was lifted from the bottom of Mt. Everest to the top with no effort, my heart leading the way. I have felt greater joys than that day but none testify to my why I continue to obey the commandments. But both my wedding day and my children's births compare in happiness to what I felt when I asked if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. Nobody convinced me or proved to me these things, they didn't have to.

How I live my faith

I spend my time working in the church by attending the nursery. Those kids can be a handful and sometimes I want to choke out a few of them, but someone has to watch them while their parents hangout in the hallway during class or teach sunday school.
