Hi I'm Wendy Burger Basso.

I'm a mother of six, and grandmother of eight and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family and what I do is usually centered around them. I love to garden, create things and cook from my garden, sew, and read. I love history, old houses, and renovating old houses. I am still athletic (of sorts) and like to walk, jog, and play volleyball. Some of our children and grandchildren live in Hawaii, so we try to visit at least once a year. I am involved in two civic committees in my town, and I am glad I can serve in that way. I am currently working on a developing a business that teaches others to plant gardens and be more self-sufficient.

Why I am a Mormon

I am blessed in being a fifth generation Mormon, but the decision to be so was still mine to make. I really can't think of life any other way. My beliefs affect my family, my community relationships, my interpersonal values, the way I see the world. Hopefully I am more tolerant, more loving, more willing to see the "big picture", more resilient and more faithful in good times and bad.

How I live my faith

I start and end each day in prayer, and humbly ask the Lord to guide me to serve Him in any way I can. I strive to be a good example, to be kind, polite, of service to others. If there is something that needs to be done, I try to be that someone. I strive to study the scriptures each day, so that I can constantly learn how to be Christlike. I hope and pray that I have fortified my children to be faithful and true to the Gospel.
