Hi I'm Elora

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a twenty-one year old college student, a senior about to graduate with a Liberal Arts degree and hopping on getting a masters in Social Work. I am the youngest of three girls. I love to write and am a creative writing minor. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies and love to learn about new religion. Watching movies is something I enjoy with friends or myself. I love to camp and miss the summers in Alaska growing up. I love nature and find that it is beautiful.

Why I am a Mormon

When I read and listen to the Prophets from the past as well as today's I know what they say is true. The knowledge that I receive is a comfort, unlike the confusion in the world. I was placed in foster care at the age nine when my mother passed away. It was a trying time, I loved her deeply and knew that a Heavenly Father that was written about in the Bible wouldn't send her to hell because she did wrong and didn't have the chance to repent. When I learned about the church and the teachings I knew it was true. It answered so many questions I had. That many other faiths didn't have the answers too. I knew that Heavenly Father couldn't be cut and dry, because we are all different and he loves everyone of us. I love that the gospel is something that I am always learning and growing in. It has taught me that there is love and understanding. That life though hard is here for a reason and I truly love the gospel.

How I live my faith

I attend the student ward every Sunday and attend activities that help grow as a ward.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Elora
The Savior suffered for all our sins and felt all our pains. I know that I need the Savior all the time because he knows me personally and knows how I am feeling. He is one person that I know loves me for me. He has witnessed my past and suffered all that heartache for me to have someone to lean on, when I feel I have no one. My past was painful and others have had far worse lives then me, if I know that I need his help easy my pain and suffering then others need him as well. Another thing that I know I need a Savior for is forgiving me of my sins. Sins are what stops us from becoming like our Heavenly Father. Through Christ we can be forgiven of those sins. For me my sins eat away at me. Through repentance I know I can be forgiven of those sins and be healed from them. The Savior draws me closer to my Heavenly Father and is someone I know I can always rely. Show more Show less
