Hi I'm Amber

I love swimming, reading, music, and being outdoors! I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. And I'm Mormon!

About Me

I'm about 19 years old and I'm a sophomore in college. Right now I'm thinking about majoring in Journalism but I haven't completely decided. I love sports, my favorites would be swimming and tennis, but I surly wouldn't rule out the others! I love listening to music and I play the piano…although not very well / I enjoy reading books and will read just about anything fiction. Right now, my favorite books would have to be the Harry Potter series and the Hunger Games series. I also enjoy Sarah Dessen and Agatha Christie books. I love driving and taking road trips. In the summer, I lifeguard at the pool and enjoy vacations with my family and going to the beach. I'm one in a family of seven, including three sisters and one brother. One of those sisters happens to be my identical twin.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents and their parents have been members of the church all their lives, so naturally I was born into the Mormon church. BUT, that's not why I'm a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, I have studied the teachings of Christ, I have prayed to my Heavenly Father and I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, along with its teachings. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was translated by Joseph Smith who is the prophet that Restored the Gospel again on this earth. I am a Mormon because I know that Heavenly Father speaks to his servants today and they are the ones leading this church. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today and he and his apostles guide the church and receive the revelation needed to help us all return to live with our Savior and Heavenly Father again. Lastly, I am a Mormon because I know that through living the gospel, keeping the commandments, obeying the voice of the prophets, and striving my best to be more like Christ, I can return to live with Him again. And knowing that through this gospel I can come unto Christ, is enough to know that I need to be a part of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly being the best that I can and striving to serve those around me and being an example of the gospel in all that I do. I attend church meetings regularly and study the scriptures and the words of the prophets daily. I also communicate with my Heavenly Father multiple times a day to help guide and bless my life. I've found that as I do this, my faith in the gospel remains strong and I am able to find comfort where I need it. On Sunday, I attend all three hours of Church where I take the sacrament and listen to the speakers, and listen to the teachers in Sunday School and Relief Society (a meeting for women). I also attend various church activities that may come up during the week, whether they be socials, devotionals, dances, service activities or meetings. I really love the gospel and enjoy all of the blessings that it brings to my life.
