Hi I'm Cameron

I live in England, I like basketball, movies, and having a great time; I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Boise Idaho, but moved to England when I was nine years old. I'm currently serving as a missionary of the church in England. It is the best thing ever.

Why I am a Mormon

My life changed when I moved to England as a child. The change was really hard to make for me at such a young age. I remember feeling like no one in the world understood me. On top of that I found that my life wasn't as good as I remembered it to have been in the states so I started to miss "home" a lot. However moving from one world to another turned out to be the right decision to make. As I grew up I believed that God was there mainly because of the influence of my righteous parents. I had witnessed miracles, and so I definitely had personal evidence. It was at the point in my life that I started feeling alone and isolated that I that I decided to take up the challenge and read the book of Mormon. All I remember about reading that book was the peace that I felt. It was like God was speaking to me and the feelings I had left me without a doubt that He was there. I remember reading Alma 32:28 which talks about a seed growing and becoming sweet to the taste. Thats how i felt about the book of mormon. I love that book and I know that it is true. From that moment on when I went anywhere I went with the knowledge that god was with me. I keep living the gospel because its the only thing that brings lasting peace. Theres nothing else that can substitute. I know that if anyone loves and lives the gospel then they will be the happiest people ever! :D

How I live my faith

I try to stay down to earth about the gospel. Jesus said, "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." Thats how I feel about the gospel. The gospel was made for us not us for the gospel. If we live the gospel as it should be lived then we'll be happy throughout our lives. I love how we are able to learn and grow in the church and how even if we think that we finally got it, we have still only scratched the surface. I've learned also that living the gospel is the only true course if we want lasting happiness in our lives and the best part was that it was made for EVERYONE! :) I'm currently serving as a missionary for the church. It's so amazing to be part of someones conversion to the gospel and understanding the things that need to happen in order to get to that point. i've been blessed to learn that god loves his children and that he loves me as well since ive been out here. I like sharing the gospel because it makes me happy and i know it will make everyone happy and feel fulfilled. Being a missionary gives me the opportunity to find and teach gods children who are searching for deep answers to lifes modern questions.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

People who think our church is a cult are people who don't know anything about our church. A cult is pretty much anything that goes against the commonly accepted norms of the day. The church has been attacked and targeted since the earliest days of its beginning mostly because we don't teach things to please the world. Look at the way the world is today. How many religions or belief systems are completely in agreement with commonly accepted views? Few if any. If our church is a "cult" then it means that the Catholics are a cult, the Baptists are a cult, the Jehovahs witnesses are a cult, Islam is a cult, Buddhism is a cult, and Atheism is a cult. Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The gospel has brought me so much unending happiness, too much in fact to just share with myself. The gospel is way too good to keep private so we share it!! :D As missionaries we are sent to teach the gospel. The way we normally find people who are interested in the gospel is when members of the church speak with their friends and invite them to learn more. Unfortunately that doesnt always happen and so we have to find people to teach on our own in whatever way we can! Personally I love talking with people on the streets and at doors because everyone's life is different and what we share will change your life forever. So don't feel offended if someone knocks on your door and asks you about God! It's because they love you and want you to find true and lasting happiness! :D Show more Show less

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

We believe that just as Christ was baptised to fulfill all righteousness we need to be as well. This is a commandment from the Father and the Son. Mark 16:16 states that "He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned". We believe as the bible states that baptism cleans us from sins and begins a new spiritual life. As we continue to follow Christ's example we can eventually return to live with our father in Heaven.
