Hi I'm Lexi

I am a teacher, tennis player, sister, friend, and a mormon.

About Me

I am currently a young teacher starting out in my career! How exciting and crazy that all is. I never thought I would be a public school teacher and living in Utah, but that is where life has led, and I am grateful for the journey. I spent the first seventeen years of my life in San Diego, CA and just loved it. I grew up in a large family of six kids. We loved to hang out outside, climb trees, build forts, and go on occasional trips to the beach. We travelled a lot as a family, so I have gained an immense love for and interest in travel. My favorite thing about traveling is seeing and meeting new people with such different lives and perspectives. It has helped me put my life into better perspective. One thing I love is seeing myself grow and change over time as well as others, and the thing that has helped me most through life is the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is my life. The gospel brings me joy, provides me with complete truth, and gives me purpose. The Book of Mormon is the center of it all. As I study the Book of Mormon and gain witnesses of its truth, I feel peace. I learn about Jesus Christ and how to become like Him. I know that I can only reach my potential through following my Savior's example, and I am grateful to know where to find the truth about Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because God has shown me time and time again that this is His true church. He has answered my prayers directly. When I exercise faith in Heavenly Father and keep His commandments, I always feel joy. Sometimes it is hard, yes, but the joy that I feel makes it worth it. As I have put the Lord to the test and followed His teachings, I have seen my life improve. Challenges still come and life is not easy, but I have learned that, in the end, following God's plan opens my mind to my potential and creates the way for me to get there. I have also learned that following God's commandments can open my eyes to see the potential of others.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I try to remember them both every day. I begin my day by reading my scriptures and saying a prayer to Heavenly Father. I end each day with a prayer as well. Currently, on my mission, I find myself praying much more than I used to because I rely on the Lord to help me know how I can best go about His work each day. I try to be kind to others and recognize my blessings. I try to fill my life with only those things that uplift me and others. I strive to develop my talents and share them with others. I also strive to love others as God loves them and not be critical of their ways. I recognize that every day is a new day and God is merciful, so I have been trying to get in the habit of repenting each day. I do not know what my future will be. I do not know exactly what life will be like when I get home from my mission in 18 months, but I know that by serving Him and loving Him and becoming more of who He wants me to be, I will be guided by Him. I am learning that Jesus Christ is the reason I can become like God one day. By following His commandments every day, I can get closer to reaching my potential.
