Hi I'm Teresa

I am a college student, sister, daughter, friend, and a newly-wed. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newly wed, learning to adjust to being two rather than one. I am a college student, finishing my last few semesters and striving to stay diligent and push through to the end. I am an older sister, with three younger brothers and one younger sister. I am a daughter, grand-daughter and niece. I battle with Candida, an Immune System imbalance where sugar and stress add to the imbalance and make me very sick. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because of the peace I feel in living this religion. It does not matter what has happened to me in the past, inside I feel at peace. Every time I read the Book of Mormon I feel that surge of peace, of the spirit in my heart. I am a Latter Day Saint because of how I feel when I walk into a temple. Because of the guidance I receive when I read scriptures. Because of the answers I have received to more prayers than I can count. I am LDS because I like who I am. I am not a perfect person, but I am improving daily, little by little by little. I love looking back and seeing how far I have come. More than anything, I am a Latter Day Saint because in living this, I feel close to God. I don't feel like I'm floundering, or guessing. I feel guidance, I feel love and comfort. I feel hope in something better. And I see in myself something better for my efforts.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my hardest to have integrity; to be the same person in the church, school, beach, parties, or where ever. All I do is what I have been taught since I was little: read the scriptures every day until I feel something and learn something. Pray to God and have a conversation with him. Go to church weekly and expect to be edified, and staying true to what I learn in all three, the best that I can. I think that is all it takes when it comes down to it. Just by inviting God into my day every single day I feel closer to him, like he acknowledges and augments my little effort, and blesses me for it.
