Hi I'm Candice Dennis

I'm a wife and a mother to 3 young children. I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a stay at home mom. I am also a Registered Nurse and have worked in Acute care and Postpartum, though I am not working currently. I love photography and videography and get pictures and videos of my family and friends whenever I can. I also love art, interior design, crafting, being thrifty, and organizing. I love my kids, they make me smile! I was born and raised in Utah but have lived in NY the last 4 1/2 years while my husband gets his PhD in Social Work.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints (Mormons). My grandparents joined the church in Germany and came to live in America. I was raised Mormon and learned the teachings of Jesus Christ since I was very young. As I became older I was able to find out for myself through prayer and study that what I was learning was true. I am a Mormon because I believe in this Gospel of Jesus Christ and all of it's teachings. It helps me strive to be a better person, a better mom, a better wife, a better friend. Christ's gospel gives me peace and helps me strive for a better and happier life through love, faith, and obedience. Family is so important to me and being a Latter-day saint magnifies that in my life and helps me know that what I am doing as a mom is the most important thing I can be doing in the world! The teachings I learn in this gospel help me re-center my life daily and prioritize what is most important. My life is far from perfect and I am constantly striving to do better, which is another reason why I love my faith. I know that because of Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice, I can repent of my mistakes and continually strive to do and be better. As long as I know I am doing my best, Christ will make up the difference. The Gospel brings peace to my life because I know who I am, where I came from, and where I am going. I know this life is a journey and that I can continue to grow and learn throughout. Through the ups and the downs, Christ is the one constant in my life and will always be there for me. His love is pure. I love my faith. I love the organization of the church and how wonderful it is to be able to be among others who share common interests and faith and where I can build friendships. No matter where I live there is a church nearby with people in it that are willing to help and share their lives with me.

How I live my faith

In my branch I am a leader in the women's organization that we have. With my counselors and my secretary, I help coordinate efforts to increase faith and personal righteousness, strengthen families and homes, and provide relief by seeking out and helping those in need. I also help conduct and teach the Sunday class we have each week. We help coordinate service projects in the community and among our own branch. As an example, when someone has surgery or a baby, we help coordinate meals for the family. I have helped women clean their homes, given rides, babysat kids and grandkids, taken meals to families, helped with tutoring, etc. We also coordinate activities where we can get together and learn a new skill or be uplifted and get to know each other. I also help coordinate assigned visiting among the women and am assigned to visit 4 women along with my visiting partner. I have come to know and care about the sisters I visit each month. We are there for each other in times of need as well as just to hang out and chat. At home I am a mother of 3 young children and so I, along with my husband, teach them about the gospel of Jesus Christ and we read the scriptures together each night. I try to be an example to them and others. We hold a family home evening every Monday night as well, where we have a spiritual family lesson with children's gospel songs, prayer, and a treat of course :). We have a fun time and our kids look forward to it each week. We strive to teach them about Christ-like attributes such as honesty, love, and charity.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Candice Dennis
Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is a true record of the people who lived on the American continent, including around the time Christ was born and died.
