Hi I'm Cory Christensen

I am an amateur musician, a Statistics Major, and the eldest of six kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a Junior at Utah State University, majoring in statistics, and minoring in management information systems/business. I hope to get a Master's degree in Business Analytics. I really enjoy playing the piano, and am currently working on recording some of my own musical ideas. Currently, I have some hymn arrangements I recorded on my mission uploaded online. I have been married for over a year now, and I couldn't be happier and more in love with my wife, who is truly my best friend. I have 5 younger siblings, who I also love dearly, and two wonderful parents who raised me to develop strong values and critical thinking skills.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up in the Church, I've discovered that every member must come to a knowledge of the gospel at some point in their life. Relying on the testimonies of parents is just not enough, especially in this chaotic world we live in. I have always known this Church to be true, and as I grow older, I am starting to see why. This gospel is the doctrine of Jesus Christ, and he restored it in full through the prophet Joseph Smith. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of that message, and the happiness it will bring to every individual who opens their heart to it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be more like my savior, Jesus Christ. Truly, he is my anchor in these troubling times. I believe in kindness, service, and especially authenticity. I avoid just "going through the motions" of religion because that is simply a waste of my time. I want everyone to know that I love my Redeemer, and that any good that comes from me is a result of that love, and the love I have for you, regardless of who you are. I am far from perfect, but I do not use that as an excuse for poor decisions and actions. Rather, I use my imperfection as motivation to become a better person. Please forgive me as I try to do so.

What is faith?

Cory Christensen
The simplest way to define faith, I think, is this: Faith is trust. Faith is so difficult to have. It is extremely hard to trust in something I cannot see, hear, or sometimes even feel. But it works! Faith is a power, a power that brings miracles and joy into one's life. The more I strengthen my Faith, the closer I feel to God and his Son. I begin to understand more, and to feel enlightened. Why is Faith necessary? I believe Faith is an eternal principle, and that we came to Earth to learn BY it. It is how we come to know God and the laws he has set for the Universe. It is a tool for teaching, learning, and developing. Show more Show less
