Hi I'm Robert

I'm a new husband, a janitor, and I'm a mormon

About Me

I am the oldest of 7 kids 6 boys, 1 girl And I wouldn't trade my family for anything. I'm laid back and easygoing and a kid at heart. I have depression, ADD and anxiety. I'm an Eagle scout in the Boy Scouts of America. I love music, singing, technology and reading. I grew up all over the United States with my dad being in the Army. I went to 3 high schools was homeschooled from 5th through 9th grade. It was pretty cool though because I got to see a lot of historic and interesting places. I'm pretty well rounded as far as interests and activities go; Outdoor or indoor, relaxing or intense it doesn't matter as long as I have family or friends to go or do them with.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I choose to be. Yes, my family is Mormon, and have been for many generations But I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its teachings are true. By praying I have recieved a witness for myself from the Holy Spirit that this church truly is Christ's. Only by praying with an honest desire to know the truth and a true intention to act based on the answer recieved will you recieve an answer to the question " Is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints true?". I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are both the word of God. We study both books to have a better understanding of Jesus Christ and His teachings, so that we can be more like Him. We also have the teachings of modern Prophets to help us in this process. This testifies to me that God truly does love us all and doesn't leave us to try and make it through life on our own and that He's always there to help us. God does answer our prayers, its just not always the answer we want And sometimes we don't pray for the right things. One thing I've learned being a Mormon is that you don't need the world's negative influences to enjoy life and honestly the world's ways never bring you true and real happiness, only temporary pleasure and then unhappiness. I'm a Mormon because its good clean fun.

How I live my faith

I served a volunteer proselytizing mission in Ventura California to share with others what I know to be true in hopes that they would choose to accept and have the same joy that I have in my life in knowing that I am literally a child of God and can, through righteous living, return and dwell in the presence of our Heavenly Father. I always try to emulate the Savior and live in a way that he would be pleased with. I recognize that I'm far from perfect but can be better than the day before, especially with the Lord's help. Jesus Christ died for me, its the least I can do to live for Him.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, very much so. Everything we do and study in the church is to help us become more like Christ. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

We Have 12 Apostles today because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is organized the very same way Jesus organized it when He was on the earth Which is also part of why we say the Church is "restored". The 12 Apostles also help keep unity of faith Ephesians 41-14. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

There isn't a thing in the world that doesn't witness to me that there is in FACT a God. Think about the earth; the great mountains, vast oceans, and dense forests. Think of all the life on earth. Think of how miraculous it is that the earth stays in orbit around the sun at a safe distance. Everything from the weather to plants and animals continue to function the way they're supposed to in a complex and elaborate yet beautiful system. To me things like the earth and all the life on it aren't formed by chance accidents and explosions. How could our existance come about randomly? Someone HAD to have created and formed it all. All of this was made for us by a Divine Being who cares for us and desires our happiness, God our Father in heaven. The Spirit of God has witnessed to me that this is true. There is a God, and he loves us. Show more Show less
