Hi I'm Patrick

I'm a Mormon, husband and father, avid learner, space technology entrepreneur, and minimalist.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. My mom is a programmer. My dad is a children's book author. They instilled in me a passion for learning. In high school, I read tons of non-fiction books about the planets, the universe, and Mars and was fascinated by outer space. I served as a church teacher in Ukraine and the experience helped me learn more about Jesus Christ. I feel like I know Him, because I have seen how He helps people and how He comforts me. I'm studying Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University, Provo with a goal to develop the skills necessary to innovate with space technology. I was married to my sweetheart in 2012. While marriage is really hard and we've had a lot of challenges, my faith in Jesus Christ has grounded me and I'm seeing more and more that my wife is the light of my days and my joy. In 2014, we had our first child and called him David because God told us that should be his name by a feeling.

Why I am a Mormon

I keep a journal of all the ways that Jesus Christ has blessed me. One of those ways was bringing me out of bondage. I struggled with a very damaging addiction for much of my childhood. I was in darkness. But living the gospel of Jesus Christ taught by ancient scripture and modern prophets and apostles (Mormon leaders) has helped me understand how the atonement of Jesus Christ (also called His sacrifice, or passion) can make me whole through His ability to heal.

How I live my faith

The family is the most important organization in the world and the purpose of the church is to make families happy and everlasting. I serve God by raising children and teaching them that God's commandments help us become happy people. I live my faith by working on being the best husband and father that I can be.
