Hi I'm Caleb

I served the Lord for two years in the south, eat chocolate syrup and biscuits, enjoy time with family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second to youngest of five boys and one girl to goodly parents. I love my family. I was born and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. With that I have gained my own testimony of the restored church and gospel. The blessings that come from living it are indescribable and immeasurable even though much testing and trying come along with it. After graduating high school I went on a mission to Macon Georgia and Jacksonville Florida. I was able to serve the wonderful people of the south and help many build their faith in our Savior Jesus Christ including my own. I enjoy playing sports but the best are soccer, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee and Frisbee golf. The best way to relax is to take a hike in the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

There comes a time in each and everyone of our lives in which we need to gain the knowledge and understanding for ourselves. Being born and raised in the church has been a blessing for me. I was taught the doctrines and principles throughout my life and they have helped me be who I am today. Yet that time for me to gain my personal testimony was in my teens. I had to decide if what I was taught and understood to be true was really true. Throughout my teenage years I went about looking for an answer and trying to see if it was true. I was looking for something that I would recognize as an answer and I then would be able to build upon... To this day I haven't had something like that happen. Instead my testimony has come through line upon line, precept upon precept. I have realized that my testimony is mine not others and it has always been there with me. I just didn't recognize it until I actually looked at what I had, and not what others had that I didn't have. My testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is one that has been built slowly but is steadfast and immovable.

How I live my faith

My faith is not manifested by calling down fire from heaven like Elijah or walking on water like Peter, but my faith is based on the same principles that both Elijah and Peter had. Faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement. Just like them of old, I show my faith by what I do and how I live my life, my choices and actions, my thoughts and deeds of everyday. I live my faith by accepting and magnifying the callings or assignments I have received through the leadership of the church. I live my life according to the commandments and teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I strive to become like him everyday through following his example and doing as he would do. I live my faith by putting my will aside and relying upon him and his teachings that will help me get back to live with our Father in Heaven again. Even though I don't produce huge miracles to those around me I join Elijah and Peter in manifesting our faith in Jesus Christ by the way we live our lives.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Caleb
I do. I believe that God wants us to know his love and care for us so he will call a prophet. I believe that the scriptures are the word of God and so God will call a prophet to define, expound, and interpret them so we can stay away from false doctrines and not be confused. I believe God has a plan for each and everyone of us so he will call a prophet. I believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and so he will call a prophet. I believe that God reveals his secrets unto his servants and so he will call a prophet. I know that God has called a prophet on this earth. Thomas S. Monson is his name. He is the living prophet of God today. He leads and guides the Lords church by the Lords instruction. If ever doubt that God has a prophet here on the earth the thought comes to mind that he loves us to much to not have one. God loves us so he sent his son, and continues to love us so calls prophets. How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Caleb
We come to know our Father in Heaven the same we we do any other person... by communicating with him. When we are away from family here on earth we can call, text, email, write letters, etc. We can do the same thing with our Heavenly Father. A wise man once said if you want to talk with God... pray, if you want God to talk to you... read his word (the scriptures). Not just read them, study and internalize them into your hearts which makes them feel personal. There are many many different ways to come to know him, but this is the best way that I have come closer to my Father in Heaven. It has helped me with many experiences and has given me strength to know that he truly loves and cares for us all. Any relationship we have with anyone is built by both parties. Our Father in Heaven is willing to build a mansion of communication... I hope that we can be too. Show more Show less
