Hi I'm Dallin

I love sports. I'm studying to be a history teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student and love to play sports. Ultimate frisbee and basketball are currently the top two. I actually do enjoy school and learning new things, especially about history. I would love to be a history professor at a university for my career. I am the oldest of five children, so it's been a lifelong challenge to be a good example to my younger siblings. My family and I have moved around a lot because of my dad's work. Moving so much can definitely be challenging, but I feel as though it has really helped shape who I am and how to get along with a variety of different people. It's been a blessing in disguise.

Why I am a Mormon

I really feel that there comes a time in everyone's life when they must decide what to do and which direction to go. Even for people, such as myself, who have grown up a member in this church, that time still comes. Is there really a God? Am I going to stay a faithful member? What kind of role is religion going to play in my life? I certainly have faced these questions and through pondering and searching, I always receive the peaceful reassurance that comes into my heart that these things are, indeed, true and the right thing to do. Answers don't always come all at once. Everyday I can learn something new that will help me be a better brother, friend and future father. As I have striven to live accordingly to the teachings of Jesus Christ, there has been a firm anchor and foundation of peace that I simply can't do without. Even though the world around me may be hectic and stressful, there is that peace inside my heart that tells me to stay faithful to Christ and His teachings and the rest will work out. I know that His teachings are the source of lasting peace and joy. I know that God lives and that He loves each and every one of us personally. I know that He speaks to all of us today many different ways. I know that one of these ways is by speaking to us through His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that this is true because I have thought it out in my mind and have asked God in prayer if this is His church. Through my prayers and through experience I know that it is.

How I live my faith

I look forward to every Sunday when I get to attend church meetings. Attending these meetings gives me strength to face the challenges and work for the coming week. I strive to attend a weekly scripture study course where I can meet new people and strengthen my understanding of Christ's teachings. When I was younger, I attended church sponsored youth activities every week and I feel that those activities really helped me to keep my standards high and learn how to be a good friend. I recently returned from serving as a missionary in Finland, where I met many wonderful people and was able to help others come unto Christ. I am really looking forward for future opportunities to serve within the Church!
