Hi I'm Tim

I'm a first year law student, I like play basketball, I am a foody and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married and recently started law school. I enjoy serving others and have had the opportunity to do humanitarian work in Uganda Africa. I also served a full time church mission in Bangkok, Thailand. My wife and I are foodies. I like sports, especially basketball, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a Mormon is because it makes me happy. There is no greater joy than feeling like you are close to God and that He approves of what you are doing in life. Also I love the teachings of the Mormon church and know that they are the truth of God. To me, it makes sense that God would send a prophet on the earth, just like in the bible times, to lead his children and let us know what will bring us peace. The most comforting part of the God's restored gospel is the fact that God has restored his power on earth which can make it so that husbands and wives are married together for this life and past death. Heaven would not be heaven if I couldn't be with my wife and my children. The other reason that I am a Mormon is because I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior. He lived and suffered the atonement for all people. He also died and raised himself from the dead letting us all know that he had overcome sin and death for all of us if we follow his commandments. I love the hope this brings in my life. Too often things happening in the world can leave us feeling depressed, but the fact that Christ is helping us and knows what is best for us is so comforting. This simplifies my life.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things about the Mormon church is that it helps me have active faith in God. I don't just say I believe, i get the chance to serve others and live a more Christlike life. In my local congregation I currently get to help the leader of the church by setting up interviews between him and the youth. Those interviews give the youth a chance to ask questions, and receive direction on things that are happening in their life. I also get the chance to visit other families in the ward and share messages about Christ and the restored gospel which not only helps them feel happy, but also allows me to share my testimony of the truth. As I have been active in my faith at church, I notice that my desire to help others spills over to other areas of my life. Whenever I see someone with a flat tire or needing help on their yard, I try to go over and offer my help. If I can't physically help them at that time, then I say a prayer for them that they will be blessed in their trials. As I have done this God has given me a greater love for people and a desire to see them succeed. As for technical matters, I live my faith by kneeling in prayer every morning and night and by reading my scriptures every day. I go to church every week so I can take the sacrament and learn about the teachings of Christ. Every Monday night, my wife and I follow the instructions of the prophet to hold family night. I also try to go the temple once a month. All of these things help me draw closer to Christ and in return allow me to live a happier life.
