Hi I'm Mike Brooks

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Mike. I have many years under my belt, but I am still quite young at heart. I love to be busy; involved with many things. My favorite thing to do, other than activities with my family, is to do theatre. It helps me relax and have fun. Gardening has that effect too, but it's getting harder to keep up with the gardens. I have been married 38 years - I married quite young. :-) I have 2 wonderful children and 7 beautiful grandchildren. I have been a member of the Church my entire life. I am grateful for all the blessings that come to me because of my membership in this wonderful Church - this way of life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member whose parents were members, whose parents were members, back many generations, but like everyone, at some point you have to be converted. I am thankful for my parents who were active and raised me in the Church, giving me the opportunities that I had/still have. As I study the scriptures and attend my meetings, I see how the Gospel is really a way of life and it seems so simple and makes so much sense.

How I live my faith

I have served as a Bishop twice and a member of the Stake Presidency. Those have been choice experiences, being on the Lord's errand. I have the opportunity to be a home teacher, to visit families in my ward that I have been assigned to visit. Some months it is tough to get motivated and go out to visit, but when I do, I feel such a sense of accomplishment when I bring a message to my families from the First Presidency of the Church. I am currently a clerk in my ward. It is so important to keep the records of the Lord's Church and make sure that they are correct.
