Hi I'm Preston

I'm a ball player, computer geek, college student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student and I've been a year before I went on a two year LDS Mission. I loved every minute of it. It was so great to be able to see the difference that the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I love to play racquetball, basketball, tetherball, tennis. I also like to go hiking and spend time in nature where I can be close to God. Traveling is also one of my hobbies, it is something I acquired a taste for while I was serving my mission in Northwest Washington.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church and never really understood all the happiness the gospel brings to people's lives until I went out to college and saw the difference it made in me. When I wasn't focusing on the Lord Jesus Christ and the principles and teachings of his gospel, I felt lonely, depressed, and burdened down. My brother was serving a mission and he challenged me to turn a new leaf around, by reading the scriptures and praying. As I did so, I felt uplifted by Christ. I know He's there! I wanted to serve a mission after gaining this testimony. I wanted others to know these great truths which I had been blessed with but never realized they were there for me. As I served my mission I gained a deeper understanding about God's purpose and His love for each and every one of His children! It's so great! It makes me happy every day to know that God has called a prophet to the earth and He is interested in the lives of each and every person who is on this earth.

How I live my faith

I go about each and every day as if it's my last, to live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute! That is one of our purposes here on the earth is to have joy and to gain experience. I love reading the scriptures and serving others in any way that I can. When we are serving others, we are serving God. (Matt 25:40) I like to envision every single person I meet as God's children and to see them accomplishing great things in their lives. I like to be connected with God as much as possible, including reading the scriptures, praying and avoiding any behavior in which I know He would not be pleased with. The Lord will guide those who are willing to keep His commandments and serve Him, and I believe that very deeply. I know if we do what God says, either through the scriptures or modern prophets, we will have peace and comfort. I've experienced this throughout my life and especially while I was serving up in Washington.
