Hi I'm Nefi

Life is given to learn how to live, my name is Nefi and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in El Salvador, I have worked in several callings at church, after I came back from my mission on November 2011 I was called to serve as the local Young Men's President, I also work using one of the blessings I got on my mission, that is english speaking. Life is not easy back home, but I am grateful for the challenges. I have a great testimony, having been blessed with a great knowledge of the gospel of Our Lord and Savior of the world. I have grown strong in the faith and I know that I have a grear purpose on this earth.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom was baptized before I was born, so I grew up in the church but this didn't mean I didn't have challenges in my life. At school I always was the only member of the church in my class I often got judge for my religion before even sharing about it, many classmates made fun of my faith without knowing anything of it, when I was in high school it got really frustrating; even though I felt something really good about the church I wasn't sure about all its doctrine. I decided to ask somebody of our faith about our beliefs but to my surprise that somebody told me that the foundation of our belief was the Book of Mormon, he told me to read it all, I never liked reading but it seemed that it was something that I needed to do, so I started reading it. Before getting in the middle of the book something inside prompted me to ask God if the book was true, so I did. I didn't feel any thing glorious or majestic but I just felt it was a good book. One day I was talking to one of my no-members friends and he started mocking at the Book of Mormon, he said that a crazy man called Joseph Smith wrote it, I knew that Joseph Smith didn't write the book and I told him that, I knew that it was the ancient people who lived in the americas and boldy I told my friend to not testify or teach about something that he didn't know. After that experience I recognized my answer, I knew the book was true, and I got my testimony by defending something that I wasn't sure I believed on. Often people judge our faith because of rumors, when I hear something about other religions I don't dare to say nothing about that religion without first speaking to a true follower of that faith, so my invitation to those who want to truly know more about this, I have to say, that the best source to find out about our belief is not to be found on Google or Facebook, but the Book of Mormon, why? Because it testifies of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of the World.

How I live my faith

I just came back from serving as a missionary of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints, it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I strongly believe it would always be. On my mission I learned that everybody is searching for something, it's only that they do not know what they're looking for or how to find. Personally I try to share the gospel at any time, it feels so good when you know who you are representing at that moment; I try to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, It's not easy but compared to the many privileges and blessings that He promises to those who are faithfull our works are nothing, that's why He is our Master, that's why I love Him so much. Many challenges appear often in my life but I have a firm testimony and knowledge that God is there to help me whenever I need Him.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

The way to become a member of this church is to have a determination to follow Jesus Christ for all the rest of our lives, that is called "enduring to the end". Many are the missionaries who are around the world telling other people whom they don't know at all about the great news of the restored gospel, I'm one of them who came from a diferent culture to teach what I know to be true. To become a member of the church you will need to recieve some lessons from missionaries of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days-Saints in order to know what kind of promises you're going to do to the Lord Jesus Christ, you can talk from now with anybody of our faith that you may know school, neighborhood, family member, and so on, I personaly invite you to recieve the many blessings that this gospel has given me and my family as well, I promise you that your life will change for the better.
