Hi I'm Alex Holyoak

I'm 21 years old, i was born in thornton colorado raised in columbia falls montana, i love to camp and i'm a mormon!

About Me

im just like any other 21 year old (i think). i like to play guitar, i like to play capture the flag and ultimate frisby in the dark, i like to go on hikes, and i really enjoy camping with 2-6 of my best friends. im currently serving as a missionary in south carolina and enjoying every second of it! before i came out on my mission i was a cna (or a certified nurses assistant) and i worked at a hospital for a little over a year to save enough money for my mission. my long term goal is to become a nurse anesthetist. (its like an anesthesiologist). what i enjoy most in my life is being able to spend time with my family. family is huge in my life and i think thats why i love sharing the gospel of jesus christ with everyone i can. because spending eternity with my family is more than a dream come true! that's what really sparked my interest in the lds church. i was raised a mormon and called myself a mormon for as long as i can remember. but i didnt really accept it as "the one true church" until i was 17. thats when i decided to kneel down and ask god if this was "his" church...to find out for myself once and for all. and because i knew that god could not lie... i went to him for my answer! God answers prayers! i know he has answered mine through the peace and joy i felt at the end of that prayer and every day since. i know now that this is his true church...and i wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!

Why I am a Mormon

ya know that feeling you get when you just know something is right? when it comes to my faith... thats how i feel! i do it because i feel its right! and i know its what god would want me to do. the holy ghost has testified to my soul and to my heart that the church of jesus christ of latter day saints is true. that is has the priesthood authority that is needed to perform the saving ordinances christ talked about (like baptism). jesus christ walked over 80 miles to be baptized by someone holding that authority (john the baptist)... so it MUST have been important! and im very grateful to have that priesthood in my life. to be able to help other people recieve the ordinances neccessary through the priesthood authority of god!

How I live my faith

In the bible when christ is talking to his apostles and he says, "blessed are ye for ye gave me water when i thirsted; ye gave me food when i hungered: and ye clothed me when i was naked." and the deciples said, "lord, when have we ever fed thee or clothed thee?" and he says, " as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." christ wants us to treat eachother with kindness and with respect. so thats what i try to do! and i think that is the best way i can show my appreciation and love for jesus christ and his atonement. just like jesus christs atonement was an act expressing his love and appreciation for us, we can show him that same love through kindness and service towards others.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?
