Hi I'm Kaylie

I am a dancer. I am a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five kids. I love dancing, singing, reading books and taking walks. I am a third grade teacher and find great joy in working with my kids. While I don't have any children of my own, I feel purpose when I work with my students.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church. My parents are good Christian people that did all that they could to help their children discover the truth for themselves. I was born on December 23, which is the same day that the Prophet Josheph Smith was born. Because of our same birthdays, I have loved reading about his life and experiences. When I was fourteen years old, my family took a trip to Nauvoo, Illinois to visit the historical sites of the church. While I was there I felt very strongly that Joseph Smith was an inspired man of God, just like the prophets Moses, Noah and Abraham. Because I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, I believe that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. I believe it is a book of scripture, that if read, brings me closer to Jesus Christ. While I was at the Temple in Nauvoo, I felt very strongly that I someday wanted to be married in one of God's temples. Our church believes that when we are married in the Temple, we are married to our spouse for Time and all Eternity. because my parents were married in a temple, I get to be with them forever. I know that being part of the Mormon church and marrying in a temple is the only way to do that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always act as I believe Christ would act. I try to love and serve those around me. One of the ways I am able to serve is in my local ward, or congregation. I am in charge of choosing the music that the congregation sings during one of our meetings. Music invites the love and peace of God into our meetings. I love being able to choose songs of praise for my fellow Christians to sing every week.
