Hi I'm Emily

I'm a student. I play the piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Freshman in college. I've played the piano and cello since fourth grade. I still have braces. I'm a little bit shy. I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but throughout High School, I wondered if His church was right for me. Through prayer, scripture study, and attending Seminary, I soon began to feel His love for me, as well as the love that He has for all his children. I still have trials, but through the atonement, Christ and Heavenly Father will help me conquer anything.

How I live my faith

I attend a University Single's ward every Sunday, and I attend classes weekly that help me to be able to learn more abotu our Gospel and the doctrines that Christ teaches us.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, not all Mormons are required to serve missions. We have been counseled by our prophets that young men should prepare to serve a mission at the age of 19. They complete a series of paper work that will be returned with the area where they are called to serve and they will serve for 2 years. Young Women are encouraged to prepare for eternal marriage in the temple and starting a eternal family with a worthy young man. But, if the young woman is nearing the age of 21, they can counsel with their bishop about the option of serving a mission, and they will complete the same paper work as the young man does. Sisters serve for 18 months in the area that they are called to serve. Show more Show less
