Hi I'm Josh

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have three beautiful children. I am originally from the Tucson, Arizona area and we have recently moved to Minnesota and we are loving the climate change! In Arizona, I worked as a Firefighter/EMT and am trying to get into the fire service in Minnesota. I currently work as a sales rep and am going to school to become a paramedic and eventually a RN.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of the church so naturally I attended church with them. Even though I was considered active as a youth I did not have a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel or even of a true church. I had a lot of ups and downs in the latter part of high school and when I moved out of my parents house after high school I stopped attending church all together. I felt very confused and tried to find happiness in living the typical college life style. I even stated attending different churches on Sundays but still felt empty inside. One weekend I was home at my parents and decided to go attend church that Sunday because my little brother was teaching the lesson in one of the classes, little did I know that that decision would change my life. At the end of my brothers lesson he asked everyone to share an experience when they had felt the Holy Ghost in their lives. I felt like I had to say something otherwise I would make my brother feel bad for not helping him in class. I sat there and tried to think of a time but had nothing, I was 20 years old, grew up in the church and didn't have any remembrance of feeling the Spirit. When it was my turn I started to recall all of the friendship from members of our ward and how they gave of their time and their talents in helping me as I grew up. When I started to talk about these experiences there was a burning feeling in my chest and a happiness and peace that I had never felt before in my life. I knew without a doubt that this was the Holy Ghost testifying to me of the truth of the gospel and that this is Christ's church here on the Earth. I made a decision after that class to meet with my bishop to help me get back on the path where I needed to be. That has been the best decision of my life, I have never looked back. I now know a happiness I have never had before, I know that God the Father and Jesus Christ know and love each of us, and I find peace in the fact that families can be together forever.

How I live my faith

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I have many different opportunities to serve in out congregation and also in our community. I currently have a few different "callings" in our church. I serve in our Young Men's organization and have the opportunity to teach the 14-15 year old boys in our ward on Sunday and another day during the week. I am also an Assistant Scoutmaster in a local Boy Scout troop that is sponsored by our church. Another calling that takes up some more of my time but is very rewarding is my calling as a Church-Service Missionary. I serve as a software tester for the department of the church that develops applications for smartphones. If you have an Android smartphone as do a search in the Play Store for "Gospel Library" or "The Book of Mormon" I have helped test those apps.
