Hi I'm James

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an only child. I was born in Southeastern Oregon, and I was raised in South Central Oregon. After graduating from High School, I enlisted in the United States Navy, and severed in many places. After leaving the Navy, I lived in Minnesota, where I got My Masters Degree, in Computer Sciences. I lived there until, my wife passed away, and then I moved to Yonkers, New York. I briefly moved back to Minnesota, and then moved to Northern California, to care for my Mother. I have been living in Southwestern Utah, for over a year. I own a small Web Design and Hosting Company. I enjoy being in nature, digital photography, oil painting, and genealogy. I am a proud member of The American Legion, and enjoy service work that I do both in the Legion, and in my Ward and Stake.

Why I am a Mormon

I sought out the church; I had knowledge of the church, as my Great Aunt and Uncle were members of the church. I was raised a protestant, and when I was in my early 20’s I joined the Catholic Church. In 1999 while living in Minnesota, I attended the open house, for the Saint Paul Minnesota Temple. While visiting the Temple, I felt the Spirit of God, there even though the Temple had not been dedicated yet, this was a life changing experience for me. Even though I was raised, to believe in Heavenly Father, and I had a strong faith, I had never really felt the Spirit before, in this way. But I did not seek out the Church for another 12 years. After moving to Utah, I started asking questions, of friends who are members of the church. I started doing some serious soul searching, and found that even though I had faith, there was something missing. My one friend who was in his late 70’s, had been a great help in my search for the truth of the church, became ill, and passed away. I had the privilege of being with him, up until the day that he passed. At that point, even though I was saddened by his passing, I was also learning of Heavenly Fathers plain of Eternal Families. I saw his family members, and friends who are members of the church. Rejoicing in the memory of his life; and the peace that they had in knowing that they would be with him for all of eternity. In April of 2011, I started the Missionary discussions, and was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in May on my 45th Birthday. I know that this is the true church, and that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God, and that through his obedience to Heavenly Fathers call on his life, the full Gospel was restored upon the earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson, is the true and living Prophet, and that Heavenly Father loves me, and that I am his Son.

How I live my faith

Through service, I am a Home Teacher, Ward Bulletin Specialist, and help clean the church. I help in Ward Missionary work, and help out in what every way that I can. I attend the Temple weekly, and attend my Sunday Ward meetings. Through pray, study, and Church activity, I am building my faith, and I am strengthing my temtamony of the Chrurch.
