Hi I'm Kort Jensen.

I love the Lord, my wonderful family, helping others and basketball! I am a husband, father and grandfather! Life is sweet!

About Me

I love life! I love humor! I love hugs! I love the exciting and good things that life has to offer. I love the challenges of life that allow us to grow. Wow! When I really stop and think about life, every part of life is amazing, challenging and always rewarding. I have a wonderful wife. We have only had three real arguments in our 30+ years of marriage. She is amazing and so patient as she raises me. I have five great kids. Four of my kids are married. They sure did marry well. I have 5 grandchildren and 2 more on the way very soon. I am sooooo proud of each of my children. They are awesome and such great role models for me to try and follow. They are so close to each other and they keep us laughing all of the time. I have been in the mortgage and insurance business for a number of years. I have also coached basketball for over 30 years. A number of years ago, my wife and I started a non-profit business centered around helping young men go on to play college basketball. We have now seen 33 of our former players go on to play college basketball and 1 on to the NBA. 2 of my sons have gone on to also play college basketball. I currently coach High School basketball. But my real passion in life is centered in helping others. Helping others to find peace, joy, hope and happiness in this busy and sometimes crazy life.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Great question! During my younger years I had the wonderful opportunity to attend many Catholic and Baptist Bible study groups and youth activities. I met so many kind people. I really developed a love for the Bible and all of the amazing stories in the Bible. I began to know something of a loving God. As a teenager, I made many friends within the Mormon faith. My mom and dad were actually Mormons but they did not really practice their faith/religion. As I learned about the Book of Mormon, it all made so much sense to me. I always believed that God loved all of His children regardless of where ever they might live or their Nationality. I knew that God loved the people in and around Jerusalem so much that He gave them prophets who recorded their writings in the Bible. But what about all of the other people throughout the world? Where were their prophets and their scriptures??? Well, God loved His children of the Western Hemisphere and he did in fact give them prophets and they recorded their writings in a book of scripture, called the Book of Mormon. This all rang so true to me! The Book of Mormon is truly a 2nd witness of Jesus Christ. It does not add to the Bible nor does it take away from the Bible. It is a companion to the Bible as another testament of Jesus Christ and his ministry to all Heavenly Father's children. I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true and it is the word of God.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by first of all being a great husband. I try to be a loving and kind husband. I always try to speak kinds words to my wife. We live in a world where so many people seem to feel it's okay to say and speak in unkind and even hurtful ways and words. When it comes to our spouses, there is no place to speak unkind words! I live my faith by trying to raise and teach my children to center their live in Christ and to serve others. I want to see my children be truly converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be active and involved in the community while they strive to serve others. I live my faith by serving in the Church. I am privileged to serve in a Church calling where I get to work with close to 3500 members of our stake. A stake is a large geographical area. I get to spend LOTS of time with the youth and with their leaders. This is the most amazing opportunity of service. The calling can be very time demanding in various stretches but ALWAYS, the blessings far out weigh the full schedule. My wife is such a great support. Never has she ever complained as I have headed out the door to go to another meeting or to go and serve another. I live my faith because I have a wife who also lives her faith. And together our faith is centered in the Lord. I live my faith by sharing my beliefs and testimony with those of my faith and those not of my faith. It is always nice and even peaceful to talk and rejoice in Christ.
