Hi I'm Bonnie

I was born in Louisiana, grew up in California, married a Canadian and moved to Canada. I like to do caligraphy and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am French Creole and was born in Lousiana. I moved to California for the better weather when I was nine years old. I was a salesman there and met my first husband who was a Canadian. We moved to Canada and seperated after 16 years. I then met my current Husband through the church. I like cooking and baking. I love to do cake decorating for all of my customers birthdays. I like to excercise and eat healthy. I grind my own wheat and make my own 100% whole wheat bread and cookies. I learned caligraphy because I hated my bad handwriting and I have been doing caligraphy now for about eight years. I make all sorts of greeting cards and bookmarks with my caligraphy talent. I am the proud mother of two daughters and I now have four grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

About a year after I moved to Canada, events in my life caused me to think. I had my first daughter and figured that I needed to go back to church. Since I had not been to the church for quite a while, I went on a search. While I was looking for a church the missionaries found me. My favorite thing I learned about was the priesthood authority being restored. I loved the Joseph Smith story and the Book of Mormon. As I was reading the Book of Mormon, I felt full of love. Some people tried to tell me lies about the church, however I talked with the missionaries and they were able to answer those questions I had. The members in my little congregation loved me and helped me overcome my fears. When I was baptized, I felt like Jesus has always been by my side and I have been happy ever since. I know that God is always in charge and I can trust him with anything.

How I live my faith

I never realized that serving others just makes you so happy. I am currently the Librarian in the congregation. I love to see all of the people that come in because I love to visit with them as I serve them. I also use my caligraphy in the library to make signs for different church functions. I enjoy the service projects we do in the women's organization for hospice. I love to follow the council given in the Lord's law of health. I grind my own wheat, I eat meat sparingly, and I eat lots of whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.
