Hi I'm Leah

I am a wife. I homeschool my 4 boys. I love the sunshine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my best friend who I met on the internet for 11 years. We have 4 crazy boys that have so much energy. I homeschool them and enjoy every minute of it, mostly. I am learning to be a public speaker so that I can share my story with others. I am interested in Event Planning as well. My husband was in the military and so we have moved a lot. We are currently settled for the moment, but a new change is in the wind. I love cooking and trying new meals... some are really good... others, not so much. It's a work in progress. I love listening to music and dancing in the living room with my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents divorced when I was young. My dad, who I lived with, was lucky enough to marry a Mormon woman. My dad didn't want anything to to with the church but didn't mind the home teachers and missionaries over. Even though my dad didn't, at the time, I took the missionary discussions and was baptized. At the time I only had a small understanding of what the gospel was and how it would change my life. I am forever grateful to the missionaries that were always in our home, for my mom who not only brought with her 5 more kids, but the gospel as well, and my dad who allowed me to hear what the missionaries were saying. I am now sealed to my dad forever.

How I live my faith

I start and end my day with prayer. I think it is important to check in with the Lord and ask for guidance through out the day. I also read my scriptures, but not just read... I study the scriptures. I learn from those that have come before me and read of the things that the Lord taught them. I serve in my family by taking care of our children and helping them learn and grow in life and in the gospel. I work hard to stay true to the covenants I have made at baptism, and in the temple. I support my husband and the priesthood power that he holds. I do my best to follow the teachings of the prophet and to honor the Lord.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Many think that there are so many restrictions that come with being a Mormon. But I don't think so. I think that the things that we are asked to do makes us better people... makes me a better person. I like to go to the movies and be with my friends, but knowing that I have been given specific guidelines to follow makes me accountable for the way that I act. Our lifestyle and the way that we live is not that much different than everyone else, on the outside... We still have bills to pay and a mortgage to meet. There is still dinner to get ready and to drive to soccer practice. But on the inside we hold the convents we have made close to our heart and the knowledge that our Savior wants what is best for us.
