Hi I'm Rebecca

I live in southern California, I work full time, I'm a mother of five, I am a new grandma and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I find time to run 3 miles every week and do other exercises weekly since I love to stay in shape and think it's important. I love to plan fun time with my family especially now that some of my boys are away from home. I have to be very organized to work full time, serve in the church, and take care of my family and myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but I had to decide if I wanted to continue in the faith. Through personal health issues, going through a divorce with three young children, I learned that the Lord was mindful of me. I wanted to learn what Jesus would do in similar situations. I studied the scriptures, prayed, and was actice in my church by attending, and being willing to serve. I really wanted to have a relationship with God. Through my devotion and study and trying to live what I learned, I gained a testimony of the various principles of this gospel.

How I live my faith

We are taught that to have a relationship with God, we need to do things daily and consistently. I strive to do that by studying scriptures daily, and reading other articles and talks from church leaders. I gain strength from hearing others' stories and how they have learned from their stuggles. I pray daily and try to listen to the Spirit's promptings to get answers to my prayers. I really learn more of the gospel by serving in the church. For several years I was the president of the youth women organization helping them plan weekday activities and helping with their Sunday gospel lessons. I have taught various lessons to different age groups. Currently, I teach a youth scripture study class which they attend each day before they attend school. Through my preparations I learn so much; I gain a better understanding of God's plan and strengthen my relationship with Him.
