Hi I'm Tim

I'm a Mormon. I have been a member of the LDS church all of my life.

About Me

My wife and I are a middle aged couple who have enjoyed an eventful and happy life. We have five children who have mostly grown and moved away. Our youngest child is leaving for college this fall. I work for a manufacturing company and my wife works for a medical research company. My hobbies include studying people and history. I'm somewhat of a history buff. My wife and I are deeply thankful for the help that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints gave us as we raised our family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a devout LDS family, but I am a devoted member of the Church because of my own conversion that happened when I was a teenager. I appreciated my parents' teachings, but as I went through adolescence, I had a restless desire to find out for myself if what I had been taught was true. I wanted to have my own foundation for my faith. I tried the experiment of keeping the commandments, coming to church meetings, reading the Book of Mormon and sincerely praying to ask the Lord if it was true. I received an answer that the Book of Mormon was true, but I discovered even more. I learned that our Heavenly Father loves all of His children and that He cares about each of us. Jesus Christ is truly our Savior and Redeemer. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints has the fullness of the blessings of the His Gospel. I was baptized as a member of the Church when I was eight years old, but I considered it to only be the beginning of my faith. At that time, I covenanted with the Lord to follow him and keep His commandments. I have tried to live true to that covenant all of my life. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My wife and I are active in our local congregation. I teach a Sunday School class and have a responsibility to visit several families in their homes each month to provide support and contact. Through the years, I have had various assignments, including working with the youth in Boy Scouts, acting as a clerk to keep records, and participating in community service projects. I believe that participating in Church activities is not only an expression of my faith in God, but it is an important way to contribute to help others. We may not be able to control what kind of good things happen to us, but we have lots of control of how much we give to help others. The Lord said that when we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are also in service to Him. I have tried to live by that.
