Hi I'm Blain

I'm a medical student... but not just any medical student... I'm a Mormon medical student.

About Me

I've been married for about 6 years and have 2 cats. I love cats. I'm a medical student and enjoyed going to Honduras on a medical mission this past summer. I like sports especially basketball and football. I used to play back in my high school days but now I guess I'm more of a spectator. I also like reading books (Harry Potter rocks!) and playing video games (Zelda rocks too!) when I have free time. I'm also a big movie buff (I don't do the rated-R stuff though).

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family but the choice to remain Mormon is fully my own. I'm a very cerebral and logical person and I love that everything in the Mormon church "makes sense", doesn't contradict itself, and is the way one would think the church of Christ should be. I know that God my Heavenly Father is perfect and has perfect logic and thus His church should make sense. More importantly than the logical side of my beliefs is that I know that as a son or daughter of God anyone can talk Him through prayer and ask Him if this church and it's teachings are truly His. This is something that I did for myself and the Holy Ghost confirmed to me that the Mormon church is the true church of Jesus Christ. I invite all who read this to learn more about the Mormon church for themselves and then to ask God if the things they have learned are of Him.

How I live my faith

The main way I live my faith is through my thoughts, words, and actions throughout the day. Although I am a long ways off, I strive to be like Jesus Christ and to become better each day. I read the sciptures and pray daily. I also attend weekly church services. I had the opportunity to serve as a full time missionary for 2 years for the Mormon Church. I served in Paraguay and loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the people there. I became quite proficient with a machete and also enjoyed laboring alongside the Paraguayans helping them anyway I could. I currently serve as the membership clerk of our congregration and take care of the membership records, etc. I also have several families that I visit regularly and share gospel messages with and help out in times of need.
