Hi I'm Valerie

I was born in South Wales UK , my husband and I have four daughters and 14 grandchildren. I am a Mormon

About Me

My husband and I and two of our daughters migrated to Australia in 1974. I started work as a sewing machinist making womens clothing, worked with mentally disabled children, at age 47 completed one year of university to become a registered nurse div2, I retired from the workplace to serve the Lord in the Melbourne Temple as assistant to the Matron. My husband and I served for 18 months. My husband and I love traveling and have been blessed to have been to many countries, we are going to Salt Lake for general conference in October. I love scrappbooking and making greeting cards, I also sew and knit and love taking photographs which I put into my albums.I enjoy going out for dinner with friends and having family and friends visit.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church because I believed the teachings , the missionary's used to visit us every week and I always felt so good when they were with us, I received a testimony that the chuch was true after  I prayed about it, The Lord has answered so many of my prayers and I have received many blessing for being obedient to the churchs teachings. I love my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the teaching of the church and serve in many areas of the church, I always look for opportunities to help others, and try to be kind and friendly with those I meet. I love the programs within the church that help me to understand the teachings, I read the scriptures every morning ,I also love reading the Ensign magazine which gives us messages from the Prophet and church leaders, it also shares others stories that helps me with problems I have had to deal with. My life has been so much more fullfilling since I joined the church, my husband and I have been married for time and all eternity and we love going to the temple, we serve in the temple as often as we can, and my greatest joy comes when my grandchildren come with us. I have many friends who are members of the church and we always try to get together as often as we can.
