Hi I'm Doreen

I am 67 years old, mother of 12, and have driven a school bus for 35 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, have 9 living children, like to do hand work, especially like to crochet and knit. I enjoy paper crafting with my daughters and friends. I like to read and I like to travel to see my grandchildren, who live out of town; I also like to visit with my local grandchildren and great grandchildren. When I was younger I played the piano, and loved to dance. As I have aged I’ve gotten arthritis, which has altered my ability to do some of those things. I like to collect cookbooks (but don’t cook too much, anymore). I love seeing the beautiful sunrise and sunset from my back yard.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a member family, with Latter-day Saint heritage on both sides. My parents family were not always active in the church, but I have found that I would rather be inside the church than out. I have felt my Savior’s love as I have watched my husband’s partial recovery from a debilitating accident, and as we have buried 3 young children. It gives me great comfort to know that my daughters are mine still, and that there is no end to our family. My faith and testimony have grown stronger by being active in the church and serving my fellow man.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the teachings of Jesus Christ and doing the things that I know I should do. By committing to fulfill my assignments and to be helpful to those in need of my help. I know that the prayer of faith has brought peace to my life and continues to give me hope in my Savior.
