Hi I'm Ralph

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of six children. I recently retired from working as a chemist testing water and wastewater. I love to do genealogy and am an amateur photographer. I enjoy gardening and hand-bookbinding and restoration. I love being with the family, especially our grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Mormon faith and have attended church regularly all my life. As a youth growing up it became very important to me to know that my parents were following the true faith of Jesus Christ. In ninth grade I studied the Book of Mormon in seminary. My teacher challenged the class to read it and pray to know if it was true. As I studied and prayed I felt the Holy Spirit whisper to me that it is truly the word of God. That feeling has come over me many times since then. In a similar way I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God called to restore Christ’s true church to the earth. God has been so very kind to me—to give me a pure witness that He lives, that He loves me, and that He sent His son to redeem me. The least I can do for Him is to try and live His commandments. I also try to live my religion because I have found that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. I feel at peace when my family and I are working together to share and to serve. I believe in God’s promises to us that our family can be together forever. I believe that He truly has restored the power for my wife and I to be married beyond the grave. Our 35 years of marriage now is just the beginning. Our family can go on forever. I love my wife and want to always be with her. I feel the same way about our ancestors, our siblings, our children, and grandchildren.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving in the church. I currently serve with the bishop of our ward as his executive secretary. I make appointments for him and assist in organizing our meetings with agendas. My wife and I also very much enjoy teaching those who are preparing to enter the temple for the first time. We review the gospel principles with them and help answer their questions.
