Hi I'm Rosemary

My father was in the US Navy. As a result, I lived in many different places. I love people, and diversity. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of five, grandmother of eleven. I work as a professional mental health counselor. I enjoy reading, working in my garden, attending workshops, teaching, traveling, discovering my family history, and playing the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a Mormon family, however, I chose to remain LDS. I have known many non-LDS. I have studied many different religions, and philosophies. Nothing has spoken to my mind, my heart, and answered my questions like the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is logical and consistent. This speaks to my intellect. Through the lens of the restored gospel, I understand how The Old Testament, The New Testament, The Book of Mormon, and modern-day revelation are all one in bearing witness that Jesus is the Christ. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me of a loving Heavenly Father who has a plan to save all of His children who are willing to be obedient. This touches my heart to know that Father in Heaven loves me and all of the rest of His children. The restored gospel teaches me that I am a spirit child of Heavenly Father. I lived with Him and my Savior before I came to earth. It teaches me why I am here in mortality. It tells me what my eternal destiny is. It answers my questions about who I am. Most importantly, I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has witnessed to my spirit, that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. That makes Joseph Smith a prophet. To make my spiritual home any other place than the Church of Jesus Christ, I would have to give up all that Joseph Smith restored--the Book of Mormon, modern-day revelations, the temple, my knowledge of who I am, and my relationship to Diety. I would lose too much and gain nothing. I am a Mormon because the restored gospel fulfills me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday with my family. I live my faith by taking part in the church. I have taught in the nursery, in the Sunday School, and in the youth groups. I live my faith by taking part in charitable activities--providing food, visiting the sick, providing service where it is needed. I live my faith by helping out in humanitarian activities--putting together quilts, hygiene kits, and school kits. I live my faith by taking part in, and supporting community activities. I try to live my faith by becoming more like my Savior--being more loving, and more compassionate.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes! This is one of the sweetest teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many couples hope this is true, but because of the restored gospel we know that it is possible. In the summer of 1972, my Sweetheart and I went to the Temple. There we were married not till death do us part, but for time and eternity through the power and authority of the priesthood. My husband passed away several years ago. One of my greatest consolations has been knowing that he is waiting for me. He loves me as he always did. We will be together again--husband and wife forever. I am so very grateful for our Heavenly Father's plan. Show more Show less
