Hi I'm Eric

I am a professional structural engineer and a recreational whistler. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A native of the Central Coast of California, I now live in Idaho, with my wife and three boys (and a girl that is on the way). I enjoy gardening, trail running, hiking, camping, playing soccer, studying history and going on bike rides with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the peace and joy that Christ's gospel has brought me. His teachings and example help me to be a better person, to overcome my weaknesses and strive to become a little more loving, a little more caring, a little better each day. I am grateful for His present-day prophets whose messages remind me of His love for us and help me to stay on the path of discipleship. While I was in college, most of my apartment decorations (from my Mom) were of lighthouses. Just as lighthouses helped guide ships to safety, I feel safe with the guiding light that God sends to us through His prophets on the earth today. I know that God loves us enough to speak to us today through prophets that we may better know how to follow the example of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

As a father, the most important thing I can do is be an example to my children. Each day I try and review my life and how I can improve so that I can be the example for my children that our Heavenly Father wants me to be. I constantly look for teaching opportunities where I can help my children learn the principles of Christ's gospel. At church I serve wherever I am needed. Currently I am teaching ten and eleven year old boys and girls. This has been a great honor and a great responsibility given the tender age of these kids as they near their high school years.
