Hi I'm Spencer

I'm an animal lover, a gamer, a book-worm, and a movie enthusiast. I love the outdoors, especially the mountains! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a normal person who enjoys living life. I love being outdoors and experiencing the beauty that nature has to offer. My favorite outdoor activities include hiking, biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and photography! Basketball is one of my favorite sports, but soccer is up there on my favorites as well. I enjoy eating (especially Blue Bell Ice Cream), though my physique isn't a fan haha. I could live off of spaghetti forever! I'm a college student majoring in biology; hopefully something in the medical field is in my near future! Perhaps my favorite thing to spend my spare time on is reading. I'm a big reader, mostly of science-fiction books, but I'll really read anything and everything. I'm also a gamer! I love the classics, and I've gone through most of the systems from classic Nintendo to my PS3. My family is my most important thing in my life, and I'm grateful to know that families can be eternal! My mom and sister are awesome and have been great examples to me! Hanging with friends is always a fun thing to do, and I try to be a friend to everyone I meet! All in all, I hope to be the best I can and make a positive influence in the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it means everything in my life! Every plan I have and everything I do revolves around my beliefs and my desire to have an eternal family. Family is the most important thing to me, and Jesus Christ and His Church is what can allow families to be together forever! I know that through Heavenly Father's plan I can be with my family for eternity. Jesus Christ is the light and the way for salvation, it's only in and through Him that anyone can be saved. I know He took the sins of the world upon himself so that we could repent and be cleansed through Him and His Atonement. I'm so grateful for the miracle and gift of the Atonement. Whenever I feel down, sad, and inadequate, Christ is there to lift me up and make me a stronger person. He is my older brother, and I know He loves me. I know that God loves me because He sent His son for me. The most important things in my life have always come from the blessings God gives me, and the gift of the restored gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is one of the greatest blessings God could ever give to anyone!

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by serving a full-time mission in the great state of Louisiana! I get to teach people the gospel of Jesus Christ and serve people every single day and I love it! When I see people who struggle with understanding the true gospel it is very rewarding to be able to share what I know about the Savior and His plan for each of us and see the hope that it brings to others. One of the best ways that I try to live my faith is working everyday to become a better disciple of Christ and become more like Him! I know Jesus Christ would want each of us to lend a helping hand to others, so that's what I try to do. All in all I think that living my faith should be a continual process of renewal each day, working to improve and overcome my faults and weaknesses and always remembering Christ in all that I do.

What is being a Mormon like?

Spencer
Being a Mormon is awesome! The things that we learn in the Church help each of us to be the best people we can be. I love being a Mormon because I have clarity in life and am able to focus on what really matters most. One of the main reasons of life itself is to have joy and happiness, and by praying often, studying the scriptures, and attending church we are able to find the way to happiness! By doing these things we learn so much about ourselves and how to improve our families that joy seems to naturally follow as a result. Show more Show less
