About Me

I come from a city west of Los Angeles, California called Lancaster. I was born in Long Beach, California. I am a Tongan-American and my parents emigrated from Tonga, an Island southeast of New Zealand in the South Pacific. I am the 3rd child of my family and i have a total of 6 siblings. I have amazing parents that i love and admire so much! I love my family because they have stregthen and supported me throughout my life. I love to play sports like volleyball, football, and tennis. I love to dance and sing. I love nature and i love people. I love to live life with excitement and try out new things everyday. Most importantly, i love to spend time with my family and friends. My family are my everything and this gospel has grounded us in a positive way. Sometimes we laugh together, cry together, and celebrate together because that is what life is all about: Happiness. And Happiness is the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I am a Tongan-American, a dancer, a singer, an outgoing person, a brother, a son, a former missionary and I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church because both my parents came from Mormon backgrounds. While growing up, i knew i was a Mormon because my parents and the rest of my family were Mormons. But then i came to realize later in life why i have come to love the gospel. Every word, every work, every principle, and every aspect of this church is true. I read the Book of Mormon cover to cover, i prayed to my Heavenly Father about this church, and i saw the blessings of the church come into my life as i followed it. I testify of that because i know it in my heart. I am a Mormon because i chose to be through revelation and through faith of knowing that this church is true. Although my parents were members of the Mormon Faith, i had to find out for myself if i can continue being a Mormon or not. And i did! All that came because i committed myself to find out the truth. And that is through the Book of Mormon and Prayer.

How I live my faith

As I came to a full understanding of why i am a Mormon, I recognized all the blessings that have taken part in my life. The joy i feel in life has come from living as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Living my faith has come through me listening to the leaders of our church who are inspired children of God. Life is seriously the hardest thing ever to experience but with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to rely on, it has made up for all the difficult times in my life. I have a family that loves me. I attend school relying not only on temporal knowledge but Gospel Knowledge. I try to surround myself with great, uplifting people. And I try to make righteous decisions I know my Heavenly Father would be proud of. The way I live my life has been molded and shape because of what i believe because that is the only way I can truly be happy.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mikey Ikahihifo
Absolutely not. Mormons not only help the members of our faith but members of other faiths and of different backgrounds and ethnicities. I have many friends who are Catholic, Baptist, Christians, etc. I love all of them and help them in any way possible. As members of the Mormon Faith, we reach our hands out to everyone. Our love for our fellow man on earth does not exclude certain people. Our Love is unlimited and will continue to be extended to anyone no matter who they are. Mormons help EVERYONE:) Show more Show less
