Hi I'm Kristine

I'm a wife and a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a busy mom raising four wonderful kiddos. I enjoy volunteering in their classrooms, organizing activities with our extended, and reading lots of fiction.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to lots of different churches with my parents and my daycare providers. When I was 14 I told my mom I didn't like our current church and so she agreed to go "church shopping" with me. Her boss happened to be a Mormon and he invited us out to an open house. I was very impressed with the concepts of Forever Families and the Word of Wisdom (our health code) so I asked my mom to find out more. The missionaries came to our house and even though my parents weren't interested they allowed me to take the discussions and get baptized. The Mormon church is the only church I have ever attended to have such an in depth knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love knowing that God has a plan for me and that if I follow His commandments I can return to live with Him and my family forever.

How I live my faith

I try to read my scriptures and pray daily. I teach my children to pray before meals and to follow the commandments.  I attend church every Sunday and help make sure all the women in our congregation know about all the upcoming activities. I organize a weekly playgroup for the mothers in our congregation and often help organize other activities for the women as well. I also help with the 10 year old boys by leading their weekly cub scout meetings. Daily living my faith is busy but the it's the most rewarding part of my life.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Kristine
The Word of Wisdom is a code of health that we follow. God sent us to this Earth so that we could receive a physical body. To show our appreciation for such a wonderful gift we do everything we can to take good care of our bodies. This includes eating a well balanced diet, exercising, and avoiding substances that are addictive. God has specifically told us that alcohol, coffee, tea, and illegal drugs are bad for our bodies. They are often addictive and when our bodies are free of addictions we are better able to feel God working in our lives AND we feel better too. Show more Show less
