Hi I'm Alan

I grew up in a Town with a Shipbuilding History going back to the 18th century and now builds world class Submarines.

About Me

I'm a hard worker who likes to keep busy, I work full time and attend college as well, I live with my wife who is not a member of the church but I adore and we do almost everything together, apart from our full time employment. I enjoy holidays to the states every year, walt disney world in fact in Florida, both my wife and I are entertainers (singers) and love to mingle with people from all walks of life, I guess you could say we love people. I have a little dog who has a character unique and special and enjoy having her with us on the journey of life for the short period of time that dogs live. I am a technology freak, I love gadgets, enjoy 3D tv at home, computers including games computers and live as comfortably as finances will allow. I try to live my life as a good honest person and compliant with the laws of God and Country in which I live.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up a Mormon since the age of 6, but left the church at the age of 18, as you might expect from a teenage rebel, and did not return to the church until the age of 41, my life during the period of time away from the church had me experiencing all sorts of things, some good and some bad, however, all of them eventually led me back to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because I realised that every person who has and will live on the earth must by definition stand before the judgement seat of God at some point in the future, so really I was just wasting time and that everyone who was not in the church was just passing the time waiting to find out what really matters in this existance and will at some point be presented with an unbiased opportunity to except the church either in this life or the life to come, the other reason was the fact that when you fall in love with someone completely you do not want to lose them when one of the two concerned dies, this is in fact a tragedy, but it is not a tragedy if they are reunited after death and you spend the rest of existance together an existance without end full of joy as being with your dear wife and family all of your family, parents, brothers and sisters, children, aunts and uncles, cousins, grandparents, great grandparents and all our other ancestors before them, can bring. The words , like in every fairytale, 'Happily Ever After', really means just that in the mormon church because we believe Families are forever, I cannot imagine being in the here after without my loved ones it is a true nightmare and quite frankly scares me. I believe we have a heavenly Father and Mother, an older brother in Jesus Christ amongst other people waiting to receive us when we leave this planet and go back to where we came from at our mortal birth. What else can I be but a Mormon it holds the only chance of success in this existance within it. Remember 'Happily Ever After' really does exist.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I teach a group of adult men the teachings of the Prophets, on a personal level I try to live according to the church rules one day at a time, I am not perfect and make mistakes and sometimes fall short but always continue to attend church and ask for forgiveness as I commit sin, as we all do from time to time, none of us are perfect, the church is for sinners and the only person without sin was Jesus Christ. Truth is I draw strength from the other members of my Ward and together we survive the onslaught of temptations in the world and up to now i'm still here hoping one day my wife will except the church and marry me forever, but it is a personal choice, I cannot influence her, she must want to join the church of her own free will in full knowledge, for herself, of its authentisity, origins and destiny and it's rewards and promises, but when that day comes you will hear a shout of joy from me that will have the power to level the walls of jericho all over again , because at that moment in time I marry her forever in the temple of our God, I will live 'Happily Ever After' . That is probably my motivation for continuing to live my faith, that and the fact that I also love all my other immediate family including my heavenly family with whom we once lived with before this mortal probationary period hereon earth.
