Hi I'm Kelsie

I'm a history nerd who carries her constitution everywhere. I'm a big sister. I love studying about the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to hike, camp, and walk walk walk! I love to watch movies and read good books. More than anything, I like spending time with my family! We all will chill around the kitchen table and talk for hours, it's the best! I'm an undergrad studying history and mathematics education. I hope to teach high school one day. College life has been great! It's fun to associate with so many people that are wanting to go so many directions in life. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I've found out for myself that the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are true, and that by living those teachings I have find happiness and joy. The concept of eternal families means EVERYTHING to me. I know that if I live my life following Christ I can return to my Father in Heaven and live with my family forever. He has shown us a way to return to him. I know that the promise contained in the Book of Mormon is real, it works! Moroni 10:3-5 changed my life forever when I took that promise to heart and prayed asking Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true. I received and answer, and I know that all who act on this promise will. We are meant to find happiness in this life, and following the teachings of Christ through His living prophets brings that joy and peace of mind!

How I live my faith

I know that reading the Book of Mormon daily has had a huge impact on my life. It gives me direction and focus in everything I do. Praying to my Heavenly Father everyday has strengthened my relationship with Jesus Christ. I know that he suffered and died for my sins, and because of that I can return to live with Him and my family forever, if I act on those things that I've been taught and know to be true. I spend my time working with the women of the ward, planning activities and volunteer opportunities to 'pay it forward'. We have all been so blessed and we want everyone to have those same opportunities.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Without the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we would be unable to return to our Heavenly Father after this life. He paid the price for our sins so we won't have to, if we choose to follow Christ and live our life in the way that he has asked us to. We are saved by His grace! Without grace, we could not be saved. His grace is entirely sufficient for us. But, we must accept that grace in our lives by living in harmony with the teachings of Christ and following His commandments. The scriptures say that "no unclean thing can dwell with God," and through repentance and baptism, our sins can be made "white as snow!" Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

God spoke to His people in ancient times through a prophet, and He still speaks to us through modern prophets today. The purpose of a prophet is to testify of Christ and tell us how we can come closer to Him. I know that we have a living prophet today that receives direction for God's children. By listening and following the prophet, we can find happiness, peace, and protection. I know that God gives us prophets and that we have them today because I have prayed to know. Anyone who wants to know if we still have prophets today can listen to the words of Thomas S. Monson and then pray to God to know if his words are true! Show more Show less
